Privacy Policy
Pickup Sports ("we", "us") helps people find and join local pickup sports games. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Information we collect

We do not collect payment information, contacts, browsing history, or precise home addresses. Location is used to compute distance to games; we do not store a persistent record of your device's location history.
How we use your information
- Operate core features: discovery, creating/joining games, chat, reminders.
- Keep the community safe: process reports and blocks, apply rate limits.
- Maintain and secure the service.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
How information is shared
- With other users: your display name, avatar, city, preferred sports, and ratings are visible to other players. Messages are visible to participants of the same game. Your email is never shown to other users.
- With service providers that operate the app on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Google Maps / Places (map display and venue search), Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notification delivery), and Open-Meteo (weather forecasts for game venues — receives only the game's venue coordinates, never your device location).
- For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect users' safety.
Data security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted by row-level security so only you and the appropriate participants can read it. Chat messages are readable only by participants of that game.
Your choices and rights
- Location: you can decline or revoke location permission in your device settings; nearby-game discovery and check-in will be limited without it.
- Notifications: manage or disable push notifications in the app or device settings.
- Access / deletion: delete your account any time in the app — Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and associated data (profile, messages, game history, ratings). You can also request deletion at matthieuorr45@gmail.com.
- Blocking: you can block other users so you no longer see their games or messages.
Children
Pickup Sports is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
